Boat trips depend on sea and wind conditions. Operators may change or cancel departures for safety. Keep a land-based alternative instead of building the day around one unverified sailing.
Season changes the experience
Summer brings the widest visitor services and the greatest pressure on beaches, roads and accommodation. Spring and autumn suit walking and mixed coast-and-town trips. Winter is quieter, but some resort businesses and boat services reduce their schedules.
Cliff edges, stairs and sand create access barriers even when a town centre is manageable. Check individual beach access and use the route planner to avoid unnecessary crossings of the region.
