What fits into one day
Allow separate time for central Braga and Bom Jesus do Monte. The sanctuary sits outside the centre, so it works better as a planned second part of the day than an improvised extra stop.

Braga is reached from Porto by public transport. Confirm the current train or coach schedule and the local connection to the sanctuary before travel.
Plan the day
Start in the historic centre, pause for lunch, then continue to Bom Jesus. Leave enough time for the return connection to Porto.
