About Bohemian Paradise

Choose one rock town and one gateway for each day, because the protected landscape is not a single park entrance or circular trail.

Pick the gateway before the trail

Turnov supports routes toward Hrubá Skála and nearby rock areas, while Jičín serves another part of the landscape. The best base depends on the named trail, not on one regional label.

Mnichovo Hradiště can suit routes on the western side. Compare the station, bus and accommodation with the actual starting point before settling on a base.

Prepare for steps and narrow paths

Sandstone routes often include stairs, roots, confined passages and exposed viewpoints. Choose a signed circuit that fits the group and keep an easier valley option for wet or icy conditions.

Popular paths can be congested in good summer weather. An early start and one complete route are more useful than driving between several crowded entrances.

Combine one castle, not every castle

Castles and ruins sit across the wider landscape, each with its own access and opening schedule. Pair one with a nearby rock route when the geography supports it.

Rail reaches the principal gateways and seasonal buses may shorten some journeys. Check the final local connection because a station arrival does not guarantee transport to a remote trailhead.
