Day trip

Comino and Blue Lagoon day planning

A Comino day built around an authorised boat, the current Blue Lagoon landing pass and enough margin for sea conditions.

Comino is a boat trip, not a normal sightseeing circuit. Anyone landing at the Blue Lagoon must follow the current visitor-management process, while the chosen authorised vessel controls departure, boarding and return times.

Confirm the Blue Lagoon landing pass

Check the current Malta Tourism Authority system before travel and keep the required confirmation available. Rules, time windows and capacity controls can change.

Book an authorised vessel for the same window

The landing confirmation does not replace the boat arrangement. Match the operator’s departure and return to the selected access window and read its cancellation terms.

Expect heat and rugged ground

Shade, water and easy walking routes are limited. Comino’s paths and landing areas are not a guaranteed step-free environment, so check directly when access support is required.

Keep the visit smaller than the island map

The Blue Lagoon, a swim and one short nearby walk are enough for most days. Do not add a long island crossing when heat, crowds or boat timing reduce the safe margin.

Use a mainland alternative in rough weather

Sea conditions can cancel or shorten the outing. Keep a Mellieħa, Malta Island or Gozo plan that does not depend on a small boat.
