Akamas is possible from Paphos by bus, but the day is long and only one walking area fits sensibly. Check the Paphos to Polis service and the local connection towards the Baths of Aphrodite before committing to a trail.
Build the route around the final return
Start at the correct Paphos bus station, change in Polis and save every return time. The connection matters more than an optimistic map estimate.
Use the Baths area as the trail gateway
The local bus reaches the Baths of Aphrodite area, not the whole peninsula. Choose one official nearby route or remain around the coast and visitor area.
Do not improvise on rough tracks
Akamas access changes with road, fire and conservation notices. Ordinary rental cars may not suit rough tracks, and insurance terms need a separate check.
Match the walk to heat and ability
Official trails can be exposed, steep and longer than their map footprint suggests. Carry water and turn back before the bus margin becomes tight.
Stay in Polis for a fuller Akamas day
Two nights in Polis or Latchi remove the longest connection and allow a better response to conditions. From Paphos, keep the day to one route.
