Five days is enough to combine Klaipėda with a meaningful stay on the Lithuanian Curonian Spit. The route works best when the ferry crossing is treated as part of the transfer and Nida becomes a base, not a distant attraction squeezed into one day.
Use Klaipėda as the gateway
Spend the first night near the centre and confirm which ferry terminal suits the journey. Foot passengers and vehicles do not always use the same practical route. An early crossing protects time for the onward bus or drive down the spit.
Stay on the spit
Three nights in Nida provide two complete days for dunes, forest, waterfront and nearby settlements. Juodkrantė can be visited on the transfer or as a separate outing, depending on bus times. Protected-area rules and marked access should guide walks through the dune landscape.
A bicycle adds flexibility for shorter distances, but wind and summer traffic matter. Reserve rentals and accommodation in peak periods rather than assuming availability after arrival.
Protect the final connection
Return to Klaipėda with a generous margin before an onward train. A delayed bus or ferry can undermine a tightly timed departure. Travellers with only three days should stay in Klaipėda and make one focused spit visit instead of changing hotels twice.
