The park has no single entrance or visitor circuit. Choose Lake Rāzna, Mākoņkalns or Lielais Liepukalns as the main objective, then confirm the road, trail and public access for that place.
Choose one section of the park
Lake Rāzna has multiple shore communities and recreation areas rather than one central waterfront. Mākoņkalns combines a hilltop castle site with views, while Lielais Liepukalns offers another elevated route in a different part of the park.
Ežezers and outlying cultural sites widen the area further. Treat them as a second day, not quick additions to a first circuit around Rāzna.
Confirm public access
Use designated beaches, trails, towers and parking areas. A road reaching the lake on a map does not guarantee public shoreline access, and private land should never be crossed without permission.
Trail surfaces, towers and minor roads can close after storms, snow, fire risk or maintenance. Check the Nature Conservation Agency and local notices shortly before travel.
Arrange transport from Rēzekne
Rēzekne is the most useful city gateway, but local buses are not designed as a park shuttle. Confirm the exact village stop and return or arrange a car, driver or transfer through accommodation.
Carry fuel, food and offline directions for a driving day. Phone coverage and services are uneven, so leave enough daylight to return without relying on an unplanned rural shortcut.
Respect water and wildlife
Water temperature, algae, wind and local rules affect swimming and boating. Use managed areas and recognised operators, wear suitable safety equipment and follow any temporary restriction.
Fishing, fires, camping and drones are regulated. Check current permissions and avoid disturbing nesting birds, reed beds or quiet village shores.
